This rock was expelled from Mars by an asteroid impact and ended up on Earth as a meteorite.
Cité de l’Espace then entrusted it to Thomas Pesquet for his first mission aboard the ISS (Proxima from November 2016 to June 2017). He brought it back to us for display. In addition, a piece of this rock was placed on NASA ‘s Perseverance rover and thus returned to its home planet. We’re not exaggerating when we talk about an unusual fate!
